Prairie Inn Harriers Youth
While the Prairie Inn Harriers has been a successful running club since 1978, the Harriers Youth Team has been tearing up the track, road and trail since 2014. The goal was to get teens excited about running, and help them reach their potential. Along the way, the aim was to have as much fun as possible.
Since then, we have competed in such places as NYC, Quebec, Kingston, Edmonton, Seattle, Portland, Eugene, and all over BC. We train hard, race fast and have a good time together.
All of the Team has improved, running personal best times. We have won Provincial XC team titles, qualified athletes for Provincial and National teams, and even had an athlete win a silver medal at the Rio Paralympics. All in all, it has been a very successful first 3 years. We are always looking for young runners who want to join the team.
Everyone is welcome. There are no cuts and no try-outs. If you love running, then we want you to be part of our group. For safety purposes, you should be able to keep up during the warm-up run of about 4 km. But don’t be intimidated because improvement comes quite fast.
